Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp ginger minced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions chopped

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika. Coat the chicken pieces with this flour mixture.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add ginger and garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Pour in the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the fried chicken pieces back into the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • Crispier Chicken: For an extra crispy texture, you can double coat the chicken in the flour mixture or even use cornstarch instead of flour.
  • Spice Level: Adjust the sweetness and heat of the chili sauce by adding extra chili flakes or using a milder sauce.
  • Alternative Garnishes: Feel free to add fried shallots or fresh cilantro for an additional crunch and freshness.
