Ingredients
  

  • 1 box 15.25 oz yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, oil, eggs, and vanilla (if using) until a dough forms.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Do not overbake.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Swap in different flavors of cake mix for variety—try chocolate, strawberry, or spice.
