Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup 115g unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup 150g granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 and 3/4 cups 220g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon optional
  • 3/4 cup 130g chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven & Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • Mash Bananas: In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients: Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the bananas. Stir until well combined.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Mix Everything Together: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top. Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool & Serve: Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Use overripe bananas for the best flavor and natural sweetness.
  • Don’t overmix the batter—a few lumps are fine for a tender texture.
  • Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top before baking for a bakery-style look.
  • Store at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
  • Freeze banana bread slices for a quick and easy snack anytime.
