Servings 16 blondie squares
- 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup crushed pretzels
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce plus extra for drizzling
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla, mix until fully combined.
Stir in salt and flour until just combined—do not overmix.
Fold in chocolate chips and crushed pretzels.
Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
Drizzle salted caramel over the top and gently swirl with a knife.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until edges are golden and center is just set.
Let cool in pan before lifting out and slicing into squares.
-
For cleaner cuts, chill the blondies in the fridge before slicing.
-
Don’t overbake—the center should still look slightly underdone when you pull them out.
-
You can use store-bought or homemade salted caramel.
-
Add a sprinkle of flaky sea salt on top after baking for an extra kick.
