Prep Time 15 minutes
Chilling Time 10 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes
Servings 6 slices (depending on apple size)

Ingredients

  • 2 large firm apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or milk chocolate, if preferred
  • 1/2 cup soft caramel candies unwrapped
  • 1 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup chopped toasted pecans
  • Flaky sea salt optional
  • Lollipop sticks or wooden skewers optional, for serving

Instructions

  • Wash and dry apples thoroughly. Slice them into thick, round slices (about 1/2-inch thick), removing seeds and cores.
  • Pat slices dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture (this helps toppings stick better).
  • Insert lollipop sticks into the bottom of each apple slice, if using.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  • In another small bowl, melt caramel candies with heavy cream in 30-second intervals until smooth and pourable.
  • Dip each apple slice halfway into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off.
  • Drizzle melted caramel over the chocolate-covered section.
  • Immediately sprinkle chopped pecans over the top, pressing slightly to help them stick.
  • Place slices on a parchment-lined tray and chill for about 10 minutes, or until chocolate sets.
  • Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired, then serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • Make sure apples are dry before dipping — moisture can prevent toppings from sticking.
  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith for a flavor contrast to the sweet toppings.
  • Toast the pecans beforehand to bring out their nutty flavor.
  • Want a drizzle effect? Use a spoon or piping bag to zigzag caramel or chocolate.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture or store in the fridge for a few hours.
