  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For the chocolate chip layer:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

For the ganache topping:

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mix until combined.
  • Stir in cocoa powder, flour, and salt until just combined. Don’t overmix.
  • Spread batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the brownie batter.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.

  • Chill for at least 1 hour until ganache is set.
  • Slice into bars and serve.

Notes

  • Let the bars chill fully before cutting for clean slices.
  • Use good-quality cocoa and chocolate chips for best flavor.
  • Add a pinch of sea salt on top before chilling for contrast.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days.
