For the Cookie Layer:
- ½ cup unsalted butter softened
- ½ cup brown sugar packed
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan.
For the brownie layer: whisk together melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing until just combined. Spread evenly in the prepared pan.
