  • 2 8 ounce packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 lemons zested and juiced, divided

  • 3 tablespoons white sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Unroll one package of crescent roll dough and press into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, sealing seams.
  • In a bowl, beat softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth. Add juice and zest from one lemon and mix until combined.
  • Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent dough in the dish.
  • Unroll the second crescent roll package and place over the cream cheese layer, gently pressing seams together.
  • Drizzle melted butter over the top layer of dough.
  • Mix remaining lemon zest and juice with 3 tablespoons of sugar and sprinkle over the buttered dough.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes or until top is golden brown.
  • Let cool completely at room temperature, then chill for at least 2 hours.
  • Slice into bars and serve chilled.

Notes

  • Use fresh lemons for the best flavor.
  • Chill thoroughly for clean slices.
