One Recipe for 3 Cookies

One dough, three classic cookies. Chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and double chocolate chunk all from a single recipe. It’s efficient, delicious, and your new favorite baking shortcut.

Ingredients
  

Base Dough:

  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Add-ins:

  • Chocolate Chip: 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Oatmeal Raisin: 3/4 cup old-fashioned oats 1/2 cup raisins, 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Double Chocolate Chunk: 1/4 cup cocoa powder 3/4 cup dark chocolate chunks

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and both sugars until fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs and vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until a dough forms.
  • Divide dough evenly into 3 bowls.
  • For chocolate chip, stir in chocolate chips.
  • For oatmeal raisin, stir in oats, raisins, and cinnamon.
  • For double chocolate chunk, mix in cocoa powder and chocolate chunks.
  • Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  • Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden and centers are set.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.

Notes

  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
  • Use a cookie scoop for evenly sized cookies.
  • Slightly underbake for softer centers.
  • Mix and match add-ins to create your own combinations.
