- 4 oz saltine crackers about 1 sleeve
- 1 cup dark brown sugar packed
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer, edge to edge.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter and brown sugar. Stir until melted and bubbling.
Once it begins to boil, let it cook for 3 full minutes without stirring.
Carefully pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers. Use a spatula to spread it out to the edges.
Bake for 5-6 minutes, or until bubbly.
Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let sit for 5 minutes to melt.
Spread the softened chocolate into an even layer. Sprinkle chopped pecans on top.
Let cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or chill in the fridge to speed things up.
Once fully set, break into pieces and serve.
