The Best Sweet Tea Recipe – Here’s the recipe to perfect sweet tea every time! My favorite drink during the warmer months.


5 tea bags (I use Luzianne)
3/4 cup sugar (or 1/2 cup splenda, truvia or other sugar substitute)
2 quarts water


Place tea bags into a medium saucepan and cover with just enough water. Bring to an almost boil, remove from the heat and let stand for 2-3 minutes. Remove tea bags from the liquid.

Meanwhile fill a 2 quart pitcher halfway up with water and add sugar. Stir until mostly dissolved. It’s important to combine the sugar with the cold water before adding the hot tea liquid (to prevent it from tasting bitter). Add tea liquid and give it another stir. Fill the rest of the pitcher with the remaining water and place in the fridge for at least 1 hour or until completely cooled. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon wedges.
